Profile

A self-motivated and technically versatile IT professional with broad hands-on experience across networking, systems administration, home automation, broadcast technology, and renewable energy systems. Currently focused on expanding expertise in Kubernetes and modern infrastructure.

After a period out of work between 2002 and 2012 due to ill health — including heart surgery to fit a mechanical heart valve — I used that time productively, passing four Microsoft exams and studying toward the CCNA. It demonstrated that the drive to keep learning doesn't switch off.

I pick up unfamiliar technology quickly and have a strong practical instinct for configuring systems I haven't worked with before.

June 2016

• Basic video switching and editing for a range of live events
• Assisted in the setup and running of live broadcasts to remote venues
• Consulted on and configured wireless access points for staff and public access
• Mapped the grounds using a 360° camera and published to Google Maps

• Collected service users at scheduled times and transported them safely to required destinations

Achievements:

• Built a streaming server for monitoring and potential future public broadcasting
• Implemented a system to record all outgoing broadcasts
